Jelly beans are all nice enough, but this jar actually contains magic beans.
Magic beans have the strange ability to grow a beanstalk very quickly, at their own expense.
The beanstalk grows straight upward in mile-long bursts, and for every mile it grows, the amount of beans planted shrinks by half.

Some time ago, a boy named Jack was interested in this jar.
You see, Jack wanted reach the home of a mighty giant, resting upon a cloud ten miles high.
He would only take the jar of magic beans if there were enough beans in it that he could reach the giant’s home before the beans in the ground numbered fewer than one.
Never being one for math, he gave up on figuring it out and left the jar where he found it, and eventually it ended up here.

Should Jack have TAKEN or NOT TAKEN the jar?
